Schepping bij begin en eind

"Het bijbelse verhaal begon, nogal logisch, met een begin. Nu gaat het naar zijn einde, toch al minder logisch, ook met een begin.

De door zonde verwoeste schepping van het boek Genesis wordt hersteld in de door het offer vernieuwde schepping van het boek Openbaring.

Het resultaat van deze begin- en eindhandelingen van de schepping zijn dezelfde: 'de hemel en de aarde' in Genesis, en de 'nieuwe hemel en nieuwe aarde' in Openbaring.

Het verhaal dat 'schepping' als openingswoord heeft, heeft ook 'schepping' als eindwoord."
